Homework
Homework should take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. Your child should always come home with at least one reading and one math assignment, and in addition, a spelling list to be studied nightly. The assignments are skills that have
been presented in class. Your child should be able to complete their homework independently; however, I do understand that some children need adult assistance.
Please have your child practice reading and following directions on their own. If your child has truly put 100% effort into their homework, and has worked for more than 30 minutes, you may sign their homework, and your child’s homework will be considered complete.
* I do NOT want children becoming frustrated at home
if they do not understand their homework.
*Challenge packets (extra math, language arts, and reading) will be offered to every child. Challenge packets are optional, and children will have one week to complete the work. The challenge packets are offered in addition to nightly
homework.
Your child should be reading every night (15minutes), practicing math facts, and studying for upcoming spelling tests (given every Friday).
Homework is not given on the weekends.
